Wohngeld Table Düsseldorf 2026
The following Wohngeld table shows the monthly Wohngeld amounts for Düsseldorf (Rent Level IV) after the 2026 Wohngeld increase. The table is structured by household size and monthly total income. The values are based on the official federal Wohngeld tables — specifically for Rent Level IV.
How to read the table: Select the row with your household size and the column with your approximate monthly total income. The amount shown is your monthly Wohngeld (rent subsidy). The table assumes the maximum eligible rent — lower rents may result in correspondingly lower amounts.
How is the official Wohngeld table structured?
The nationwide Wohngeld table is structured by income and rent: income is shown in the rows, rent in the columns. The possible Wohngeld amount can be read at the intersection. Because rent levels differ from region to region, there are seven rent levels (Mietstufen I to VII), each with its own table.
Düsseldorf belongs to Mietstufe IV. The tables on this page therefore show the Mietstufe IV values — exactly the table that applies to Düsseldorf. More about the rent levels →

7–12 Persons (Larger Households)
For each additional household member, both the income limit and the maximum eligible rent increase by around €100–130. The maximum Wohngeld also increases accordingly. The exact values for households with more than 6 persons are calculated individually by the Wohngeld office upon application.
Important note: This table contains rounded reference values based on the Wohngeld formula with the parameters for Rent Level IV and the values of the 2026 Wohngeld increase. Actual amounts may vary depending on individual rent levels, exact income composition and allowances. A binding decision is only issued by the Wohngeld office Düsseldorf.
What If Your Rent Is Below the Maximum Amount?
If your actual rent is below the maximum amount assumed in the table, the Wohngeld will be correspondingly lower. An example: a 1-person household with €1,000 income and the maximum rent of €456 receives around €285. With a rent of only €350, the Wohngeld is reduced to approximately €220.
